How come I cant download winzip files and winzip on my Mac?

Basically i tried downloading a winzip file and it didnt open, so it tried downloading winzip and that didnt work either.

The "Win" part of WinZip's name should make it fairly obvous why it doesn't work on a Mac: it's a Windows program.

Zip files should be openable with the included Archive Utility found in OS X. If not, try Stuffit Expander.
