(I wonder how Phil Jackson will look like if he wears Lakers jersey during the game. Maybe a bit funny-looking...)

  1. because

-managers go out to the field to make arguements/changes

    -part of lineup

-used to be able to play

  2. idk maybe nba doesnt allow coaches to wear jerseys.

  3. Everyone in the dugout is supposed to wear a uniform.

  4. Why not?

  5. i see it like this

baseball mangers are in dugouts where its dirty and smelly and full of dust and dirt so why would they wear a fresh suit.

nba coaches  are in front of huge crowds on a polished sideline so they look good in their suits instead of wearin jerseys

  6. Yeah I've often wondered that as well.  I'd like to see a hockey coach wear a full hockey jersey and pads though hah :)

  7. because MLB managers are part of the team

  8. one word: Tradition

  9. Wow, thanks for the mental picture, lol.

  10. Think of it this way - for quite a long time in baseball history, the "player-manager" was fairly common.  Many managers were also players at the same time.  Therefore, they had no choice but to wear the uniform.

As the "player-manager" became rarer, I guess nobody found a real reason for managers to switch away from the player uniform.  People seemed to like it, so nobody changed it.  It was traditional.

  11. good point

    and who cares
