How come Mexicana Airlines doesn't fly to Durango, Mexico no more?

Mexicana cancelled all operations on the Durango Airport on January 3rd 2005 (After almost 11 years of service). The decission was unilateral and no further information was stated by the company.

Durango is a destination serving very few passengers (I mean comparing to other destinations) and there were often flight cancellations due to low occupancy.

Only AeroCalifornia, AeroMexico and Continental serve that destination connecting with LAX, MEX, TRC, TIJ and GDL.

They are constantly changing their lines that do not produce.

I could not get a flight from D.F.to Phoenix earlier this year.

Their routes are reviewed and they are a losing proposition --They will cut it
