How come Moroccans wear 70s style disco clothes with platform shoes with a fish in the heel?

I was praying Magrib and the brother next to me was wearing 70s disco clothes with the shirt open and the hairy chest showing. He was also dancing after every rakah which was messing up my niyah.

Then when I went to go get my shoes, I noticed all the shoe slots were full of platform shoes with fish inside the heals.
