  1. This question should be posted in the Basketball section.

  2. Probably don't have good basketball players or the people of the cities don't care

  3. Kian S, Are you ******* retarted?  Why the h**l does it matter if a city doesnt have good basketball players.  So you think that the city of Toronto produces good basketball players just cause they have an NBA team? h**l NAW!  All teams draft people and sign free agents.  You obviously have no knowledge of the game of basketball

  4. I can't speak for St. Louis but I live in Pittsburgh.  This city just isn't big enough to support another professional team.  The guy who said the Pirates are barely surviving is dead wrong, they're making a killing because they have no payroll and are making a ton off teams like Boston and the Yanks who have to pay a tax for high player salaries.  Someone did make the point that the season would overlap the Steelers and Penguins seasons- That's a great point.  The Steelers are king in this town and the Penguins have caught the attention of  Pittsburgh in a big way.  I don't know if a team could possibly contend with both of them simultaneously.  Not to mention this city HATES the NBA.  HATES IT!  I wish hate was a strong enough word,l but its not. I've lived here for almost a decade and every basketball conversation I've had here ends with someone one calling all the the NBA players gang bangers or drug dealers or users.  From what I've seen, this city looks at the NBA as entirely made up of thugs.

  5. b/c the NBA can only have so many teams and players, (the nba isnt exactly the most popular sport, but i like it) and pittsburgh and st.louis prolly dont hav enough basketball fans or fan support, basketball isnt real big in that area, it would jus over crowed the leauge

  6. Pittsburg simply has too many g*y people and the NBA is against that. g**s and trailer trash, whole city full of em.

  7. The cities simple aren't big enough.  The city of Pittsburgh has less than half a million people.  The Steelers are never going anywhere.  The Pirates have been around forever, but barely survive.  The residents are also very passionate about the Penguins.  But no one in that town is going to watch, or more importantly spend money, on a team that overlaps its season with the Penguins and the Steelers.  There are only so many entertainment dollars to be spent by the public.  Pittsburgh couldn't even maintain an Arena League team.  People just don't care enough or have enough money to spend to keep the team relevant.

I would assume St. Louis is much the same way.  They have already had a major franchise move.  In fact, the Atlanta Hawks moved from St. Louis as well.

Some cities are just 3 sport towns.  Seriously, all the 4 sport towns are the largest cities in America.
