  1. it can be re-uesed, but not recycled easily. In other words, there's no "melting it down" to make stuff. It is hard to clean, especially the white type often used in cups and packaging. It floats, so immersing it in water to clean it is pretty impossible.

The best you can do is reccle it yourself. Chop it up and use it for packaging. That really is the most efficient way to deal with it. It can be burned, but ...yuk.

  2. Some can be some can't. I break it up into

small pieces and give it back to a store

for packing material. Some recycling depots

take it some don't. In Vermont Chittendon

    county takes it others don't.

  3. that is news to me I always thought it could be I seen a show on TV that showed how it was ground up and a% was added to the new material, our local blue box program takes it.The program on TV was "how its made"

  4. Styrofoam can be recycled as it is a plastic just expanded with air trapped inside it.

The issue is that it's not efficient to transport it for recycling as when recycled an entire van load turns into the size of a computer monitor.

It is better to reuse it in a variety of ways or for a business get the machine that would turn it to the reusable form.

My suggestion is keep it in the loft as an insulator and then use it for packaging when moving etc.

  5. It can be. Most places don't because it is not cost effective.

  6. because it is not organic son,
