Question:

How come a minimum payment is still due?

I have a conocco 76 gas card. When I pay over the phone, I'm always forced to use a check, where there's a fifteen dollar processing fee. This time I used bill pay, from my bank of america online account, to pay my minimum payment of $40 for my conocco 76 gas card, so that I wouldn't have to pay the fifteen dollar processing fee, for using a check over the phone. The card had the $40 subtracted from my original balance, but I'm still being told that a $40 dollar minimum is required. Why is that?

  1. It's probably showing the minimum payment from your last statement which is a fixed number and won't change until your next statement.

Good thing that you didn't pay that $15 charge over the phone, that's crazy, $15 on a $40 payment... that's insane!

You should pay that card off... It's a gas card, how bad can it be?

  2. You just made the payment, you might have to wait a few days till it is actually posted into your statement. Especially if you pay it at then end of the week, you will likely not see it posted till the following week.

  3. You're asking the wrong people. If it doesn't update in about 72 hours, call the number on the back of your credit card, ask for credit and explain it to them and ask for an explanation.

Most likely, tho' it will process when they do their next batch of bills.

  4. I would guess that your account hasn't been updated yet.
