  1. It's precisely because of that.

Humans are born at a much earlier stage in their development than almost any other mammals. One reason for this is our oversized brains: our heads are so large in comparison to the rest of our bodies that we have trouble being born. If human babies waited until their bodies were at a similar stage to other mammals, their heads would simply not fit through the mother's pelvis. So we are born quite undeveloped.

The down side of this is that parents have to invest many years of dedicated care before a child is ready to fend for itself. But the upside is that it allows for considerable brain development, so as you've noticed we are much more intelligent than cattle.

  2. For animals, it's the matter of survival.

For humans, it's the matter of taking it easy and enjoying worry-free life until they have to start doing things themselves.

  3. All of the calves ancestors that could not run right after being born were eaten. The only ones that lived to breed were the ones that could run. Humans can pick up their babies and run, so they can survive.

  4. The cow needs to be able to move quickly to escape hunters, humans, have become soft, top of the food chain and do not need this anymore.

  5. It's inscinct and survival. It's in the genes my friend.
