I would guess that because I've not seen many vehicles in the footage of Jamaica that is shown on the news,etc. they may get around by foot alot and they may run to save time to get to some places . I am not sure as I've not been to Jamaica before but I really admire their speed and skill in this arena. I feel they must train for this immensely.

I would see it as a skill that area takes pride in so they train hard for it.
