  1. well mermaides are in no religious book nor in a science book and no one ever took or seen a picture of a mermaid, so even if they do exist you have to pardon people for not believing in them :P , try to find a proof of their existence and show everyone they are wrong :D

  2. some people believe in mermaids, i dont strongly believe nor disbelieve..

  3. Science knows much more than you do, apparently.

There's no evidence that mermaids do exist, and if you believe in them, your belief is totally groundless. That's why so many people don't believe in pretty mermaids and unicorns and leprechauns.

That doesn't stop them from believing in "God", though. Isn't ignorance fun?

  4. I believe in mermaids. I've got a pet one in my swimming pool

  5. It's because it is dangerous for the mermaids.  They used to be hunted.  Now, if people knew they existed, scientists would hunt them all and study them.  They don't want that.  They have to keep their existence a secret, which is why if I turn someone into a mermaid, I have to make sure they're willing to live by the merfolk code.

  6. No, science knows much more stuff than religion ever would and could have.

  7. Who says no-one believes in Mermaids? I happen to be a believer and every time I go on holiday I look for one. No luck yet, but I'm not going to give up.

  8. Perhaps persons have chosen not to believe in mermaids for the same reasons they have chosen not to believe in Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, the Boogey Man, the Sandman, leprechauns, brownies, fairies, elves, Tinkerbell, Peter Pan, Frankenstein and Superman.

There is no verifiable, reliable, quantifiable evidence to support those who make the claim that such exist.

As you turn on your computer, your television, your CD player, your car, or open your fridge, fly in a plane, pop something in the micro wave, receive medical help, etc., say over and over to yourself, "Science doesn't know squat" and there is no science in your life....

Perhaps it is time to grow up a bit....

    Be well and be wise.

  9. i believe in them. havent seen one in a while though.

  10. Go on then, go find me a mermaid and ill believe you, but for know i'll stick with science

  11. I am a mermaid. and my Best friend is one too!

  12. I don't believe in mermaids, because its a stupid myth

  13. what is it with you and mermaids? at least your not asking how do i become a mermaid AGAIN. you like mermaids we get it seriously get a life. i realize you are prolly a kid but its a d**n show on nickeloden you arent going to become some hot aussie girl that is a mermaid. if you want to believe in the fae and supernatural things thats great but dam learn something about it.

  14. The first known mermaid stories appeared in Assyria, ca. 1000 BC. Atargatis, the mother of Assyrian queen Semiramis, was a goddess who loved a mortal shepherd and in the process killed him. Ashamed, she jumped into a lake to take the form of a fish, but the waters would not conceal her divine beauty. Thereafter, she took the form of a mermaid — human above the waist, fish below — though the earliest representations of Atargatis showed her as being a fish with a human head and legs, similar to the Babylonian Ea. The Greeks recognized Atargatis under the name Derketo. Prior to 546 BC, the Milesian philosopher Anaximander proposed that mankind had sprung from an aquatic species of animal. He thought that humans, with their extended infancy, could not have survived early on. This idea does not appear to have survived Anaximander's death.

A popular Greek legend has Alexander the Great's sister, Thessalonike, turn into a mermaid after she died,She lived, it was said, in the Aegean and when sailors would encounter her, she would ask them only one question: "Is Alexander the king alive?" to which the correct answer would be "He lives and still rules" /Any other answer would spur her into a rage, where she transformed into a Gorgon and meant doom for the ship and every sailor onboard.

  15. I believe in mermaids, and fairies, and all mythological creatures. scientists may think they know everything, butt if knowledge were to be a beach, scientists would only own a few grains of sand.

  16. Because mermaids are masters of disguise!

they often take the shape of Dugongs (otherwise known as sea-cows)
