  1. we are the prettiest and spunkiest..

    men love blondes

  2. Give them an inch ,they'll take a mile.

    Typical female behavior.

  3. The UK. We don't have all this gender rubbish - it's soooo 70's, get with it.

  4. There IS no shiny example to follow.  That's the idea behind progressivism, which is so hard for many conservatives to understand: we're looking for something new, something that's never been done before; we're not trying to revert to the "good old days" of ANY society.

The women's movement has made a lot of progress in the last century, but the fact that men still outnumber women in science and engineering fields 3 to 1 shows that there's still a lot of progress to be made.  NO society has made that progress yet - that's all the more reason we should try to be the first.

  5. what about the mistreatment of men huh? men everywhere are treated like sh*t.

  6. I agree. A lot of Western women don't appreciate how good we have it.

  7. I think it has a lot to do with why were are not discriminated against and there is little prejudice.  We are able to whine and complain without the fear of being slapped around or even death.  I am sure the women "put in their place" would like to complain, at least now and then (even if they do feel how they are living is normal).

We have been allowed to whine and complain, that is how we gained our freedoms.  I do think there is some mistreatment of women still, but I think over all we have it very well.  We have gone from complaining to be able to own land, vote and be treated as adults rather than children, to complaining because we are so stressed because we are trying to do it all and be all.

As far as shining examples, Sweden is said to be the best place for women according to the World Economic Forum-  "In fact, a 2005 report by the World Economic Forum found this Scandinavian nation to be the world's "most advanced country" for women, with greater levels of equality, power, health, and well-being among women than anywhere else."

The U.S. was ranted 17th, just below Costa Rica

  8. Women who are "put in their place"  are grateful for the kindnesses their men grant them, they are not going to risk upsetting the man and paying the costs.  Most don't even believe they deserve better because they have been taught all their life that that is their place in life.

American and European women as a whole have been taught to seek the most they can reap from life.

  9. Because the women in those other societies will probably have acid chucked in their faces or have petrol poured over them and be set alight if they dissent.

  10. Sometimes when all the pressing issues in life have been sorted out (food, shelter, clothing etc) i.e. the things you should worry about, people just become neurotic and invent things to worry about. You rightly point out that feminism is pretty much a White middle class Western ideology. Sure they try to spread it around the world (through UNIFEM) but you can easily tell this is the ideology of privilege disguised as egalitarianism http://flickr.com/photos/msondo/12680734...

  11. Because in societies where women are "put in their place" they are legally allowed to have the c**p kicked out of them for arguing.

Women aren't there to simply satisfy men, and western women are aware of that.

Zapatero, the new prime minister of Spain's cabinet is half women half men. That's a step toward equality this country has yet to take.

*CAustin, I couldn't have said it better. We need more men like you.

  12. They're greedy.
