How come at some fast food places a "small" chocolate shake isn't that small?

I bought a small chocolate shake at a certain fast food place for $1.99 expecting it to be tiny but it turned out to be a pretty good size. Needless to say, I was pleasantly surprised and drank the whole thing anyway!

  1. Yeah I always go to sonic now for my shakes ($0.99) at the moment for a regular, and it's a crazy good shake and a decent size (friend tells me they make a good "mudslide")

  2. Well, at DQ, the small size of a blizzard is a kids shake, and the medium blizzard is a small shake. This is because, we expect that people are able to have "more shake" than "more ice cream"...I mean who would consdier 16 oz of ice cream small?

  3. wow, u must have a gd time enjoy the drink. gd for u.

  4. Because some places do not try and rip off their customers. There are some places when you ask for a small you get this microscopic little cup and other places you ask for a small and its pretty big. At WhataBurger, when you ask for a large drink they practically give you a whole gallon. More bang for your buck is always good.

  5. Because portions are unfortunately larger than what is the healthy amount, especially American fast food places.

  6. Wow! you're lucky then, I have never had that kinda luck!

I usually pay high prices, for small shakes, where you need a pair of spectacles to even see it! lol
