How come back in john dillinger's time a murder case nor a bank rob wasn't considered breaking the law?

  1. It certainly was against the law. Elliot Ness was a famous G-Man (FBI) that brought down Al Capone. Same era, same crimes.n It has been illegal to rob banks and murder people since the wild, wild west, and before that. Where would you get a idea like that is beyond me.


  2. Your information is faulty.  Those were and have been crimes for hundreds of years, way before Dillinger.

    Murder and bank robbery were crimes but not federal crimes until the FDIC law was passed and we started having Federally licensed banks.

    Prior to then,The only Federal crime was in crossing a state line for criminal or immoral purposes, misusing the mails, etc.

    A state could, and often did, fry you for murder even back, then under State laws..
