How come beer doesn't get cold when you leave it in the cardboard box or the case that it comes with and stick it in the freezer or refrigerator?

  1. idk

try just sticking it in the fridge

  2. Maybe the cardboard insulates?

Liquids take longer to chill than you may think.

  3. You should have your freezer/refrigerator checked, and fixed before everything else in there spoils and stuff.

  4. yeah, the cardboard insulates it..take it out of the container. but it will eventually get cold if your fridge is working ..an episode of mythbusters said using a fire extinguisher was the fastest way to cool off a beer besides liquid nitrogen/dry ice.

  5. Is your refridgerator plugged in?

If so, maybe you just need patience.  It may seem like they aren't getting cold, but really it is just taking longer.  The main reason that they get colder faster when you pull them out is that you are spreading them out.  Things will stay warm longer when they are bunched together (like sleeping in groups under the same blanket).

Heat will go away faster when you spread things over a greater surface.  That is why packing ice around individual cans speeds up the cooling process.

  6. ive had no problem with my beer not getting cold in its case when in the refrigerator...maybe turn the fridge up a little
