How come both Islamic and Catholic exorcisms both work?

If there is only one correct religion, why do exorcisms from different religions still work?

Because the goal is the absence of evil spirits, which don't exist in the first place.

That's like saying "By my action, there will be no people on this earth that can swallow whole watermelons"

Because they are all based on religious beliefs... The Catholic Church removed many pages and chapters and books from the bible... And the ecorcism rites was one of the many items removed from bible.... So that the Catholoic Church would be see as the only true religion..... Well needless to say the wording of how to correctly preform that exorcism correctly got out and fell into the hands of all religions......... But people seem to forget that the children of Islam belongs to God also so why would they be denied the rites of exorcism..................

because, alot of different religious things weaved into christianity and catholisism, different rituals and traditions from different religions, so i think that it is all interweaved together, it would make sense that both exorcisms would work, same with native american cleansing rituals.

Many exorcisms conducted by the authority of the Holy Roman Catholic Church fail or end in disaster for the both the person supposedly possessed and those conducting the ritual.

This one has never heard of an Islamic exorcism.

Is any religion "correct" for all persons at all times and in all places and situations?  No!

Well Mike, all religions are true. But let's think logically a bit. We know that Islam is the last religion. Then, this religion must be the most correct and complete for human being. Meanwhile, Islamic holey book "Qura'an" shows the complete story about Maryam & Jesus in details. Morefurther, this book has a lot of keys of sience and social points. Still some sientist are discovering alot of this book. You may not become muslim, but you can look at this religion and read about it. Read about Mecca, which is located in Saudi Arabia. Not all muslims reflect the true good side of Islam. You have to focus and think of a mind-of-discover. You have to think for God sake and your good only. God says in the Holey Qura'an that our life is such an hour period, it passes so fast. How fast we grew up. The 40 year old man says I just was 30 before, and all of us say the same. My point here is we should take a look and read a little about this religion. We won't lose any thing if we did. And by the way, Islam is a very peaceful religion.

I don't think there is one correct religion.  I imagine they work because the people doing it or having it done believes that it does.
