  1. They usually do not have clocks either.  They want people to lose all time and space and just concentrate on spending money.

  2. so that people have no sense of time and when they get there at night they can just keep playing all night unaware of what time it is, so when its morning and they are carried away with thier gambling they wont know. i think i just repeated myself. haha sorry

  3. Actually, that is just a generalization.

I was in a casino in Vancouver Canada and the whole roof was made of glass so it was bright and airy by day.

I was at another casino in Atlantic City and they had a four sided clock with the real time on it.

But as a general rule, the deal with casinos is they want you to focus on the games, not be thinking about the time.  If you lose track of time and spend a lot of time there.  The longer you play, the more chance you will lose to them.

Update:  Anyone that tells you that they pump oxygen into the casino, is just repeating a myth they have heard.

What they do is keep the air fresh, by constantly conditioning, purifying the air, and sometimes even adding a pleasant scent.  But the logistics and cost of filling a massive casino with pure oxygen like that simply isn't going to happen.

  4. The windows they do have keep the UV rays out and give people privacy.

  5. So that people will gamble longer.  You'll notice that there are also no clocks on any of the walls too.  If it's a constant temperature and brightness then time will pass without people knowing and they will gamble/lose more.

There is also an art to the decor in casinos.  Everything from the colour of the walls, the pattern of the carpet, the background music (if any) and the rest of the decor are designed to pull people into the casino and dissuade them from leaving.

  6. they want you too feel comfortable.  that and they dont want you to have a sense of time....

  7. Haha that's a really good question.

I guess so you lose track of time and blow all your moolah.

I don't like casinos, the smoke gets me sick.

  8. so you don't know what time it is, and you stay there all night long.

  9. it makes it more fun, really and sneaky...so you feel like you are escaping reality, like a diversion of a sort...and also so the bright lights of the games and casino will show brighter, and make you want to stay and gamble more lol

  10. Nibblet is right.  I have heard they also pump oxygen into the air to "hype" you up.

If you are oblivious to the outdoors, you are more likely to lose track of time as you get caught up in the gambling, stay longer, and lose more money!

  11. So you lose track of time and pay more attention to the gaming.

  12. To get you into a gambling trance! ahah Im really not sure, but I think this makes sense, does it not?

  13. So they can cadge you in  and take your money  and you wont even know what time it is......They don't even have clocks on the wall ..

  14. so you easy get lose and just throw away more money.

Dont forget to remember that the Ford Mustang up there is a V6

  15. I have also heard that dealers must not wear watches either. They are penalized (or used to be penalized) if they had one. I do admit there can be exceptions.

  16. they want you to stay there as long as possible. if they dont put windows in, you lose track of time and spend hours there giving the casino money

  17. Casinos have no clocks anywhere either. The goals is to get you inside, and have you playing their games, dropping money on their tables, enjoying their food, etc., without realizing how much time has passed. If you had access to a clock or could see the window, it would be easier to gauge how much time passes.

  18. Psychological. Makes you lose track of time so they can wipe out your wallet.

  19. There's also no clocks.

It's so you can't tell what time it is, lose track of time and continue drinking and gambling.

  20. Just what "Nibblet" said. If you look around you will see that there are no clocks either.
