How come everyone says I need training before getting an acting agent while some people don't need experience?

A lot of the talent agencies say that you need training and need to have taken classes and have a good resume before being signed, but some people who haven't acted a day in their lives are given an agent. The only experience I have is acting in school plays and taking Theatre Arts classes at my high school. I was just wondering if I REALLLLLY need to waste money I don't have on classes...

Perhaps the person without acting experience who got an agent is a print model.  

Even if you got an agent without any training, you wouldn't get bookings without the ability to act.  

And if you were really serious about this, you wouldn't consider training to be a waste of money.

if you really wanted this and wanted to be good at it and successful, then you wouldnt be calling classes a waste!!  i'd like to know just who it is you are referring to who got an agent with no experience.  thats pretty rare.  listen to the professional adult working actors who are telling you that agents need to see experience before they hire you.  we are older and have been there.  i know agents. i have one. i talk to them.  i used to work for one.  if you want it bad, take classes.  if you are young be prepared for years of trying.  you maybe wont have an agent for the next maybe ten years.  are you ok with that?  if the answer is no, forget acting.

I personally dont believe in acting classes. it takes away the natural part of acting....

and most  agency's say if you have talent you dont need too..

Its all up to you. I'm think agencies are going to most likely choose someone with some sort of education in acting over someone who hasn't if it doesn't come down to over pure talent! Maybe you might wanna check into some costs for classes.
