Since everything is going up in price for gas, food etc shouldn't people wages go up too in order to survive? Why isn't this happening too?

  1. Where I live in the pacific northwest everything has gone up a lot..food is outrageous, gas is ridiculous and propane is unaffordable... electric is double what most areas pay...oil is the cause and the gov won't do a thing

  2. I don't know if the statement you make is 100% accurate but assuming it is...it simply means a bad situation for the economy..if oil prices rise beyond our control this effects the production of almost everything so real prices in general rise...if we simply increased wages it would mean not enough money in real terms is going to the suppliers.

  3. Well, my husband can't afford to pay his employees more because he has to pay higher gas prices.  You can't pay money you don't have. His business has to make more to pay more.  I'm not sure employees understand that if the business isn't making more of a profit, they don't just automatically get a raise because of inflation.  I do understand that his is a small private business and this is not the case with everyone, but it is the bottom line for his employees, and countless others.

  4. Two words, corporate greed.

  5. Food isnt going up that much

  6. Some places, like the place my dad works, gives a "cost of living" raise. My employer on the other hand doesn't
