  1. If you surf the web then some sites will install cookie trackers on your computer.  Later they can access you computer and find out what kind of sites you visit.  Then they can sell you address to other sites like these.

  2. Well for Tracking cookie to be placed on your PC you have to visit that site first. I you dont visit that site first.

Additional: Some 3rd party cookie are put on your PC for additional information gathering. mostly are connected to legitimate sites.

  3. Also try running your antivirus in safe mode if you don't already do so

  4. is it finding it in your recycle bin?

  5. you can't delete a tracking cookie by using a firewall tracker. a tracking cookie tags onto your incoming and out going mail. Tracking cookies can't come through emails, they come through downloads. so i suggest you check all your previous downloads to delete it you have to delete the program it's working off.

  6. because Norton AntiVirus sucks major ***.. trust me on this one. I had norton at one point in time and it said I had just one critical virus, and it wouldn't let me delete stating that it just flat out couldn't be deleted and it happened every day. said I had one virus and no cookies or nothing.. sure enough a week later I uninstalled Norton and installed McAfee found over 1000 cookies/PUPs and over 40 different virus's half of them major virus's

  7. Well you can get a tracking cookie VERY easily, they can come from popups, embedded ads, websites, etc.

Ads really are websites so you are basically visiting them when you see them.

They're not usually harmful, don't worry.

And they're only .txt files so WTF are they gonna do? xD

But you can always turn cookies off or restrict them, in IE it's Tools > Internet Options > Privacy.

  8. If you delete it it will send it to the recycle bin so you need to check your recycle bin and delete it from there.
