  1. Silvestre is past his prime so Fergie wasn't too worried. He should be though cos Silvestre plays pretty dirty and may break Cristinas legs next time they play eachother!

It's a shrewd acquisition by Wenger, he needed a dirty brutal player to add some Blackburn style into their team,  it makes them more well rounded.

  2. Who cares about Silvestre?Silvestre sucks, even a baby can defend better than him.

  3. Who cares, both s**t

  4. Hes lost it, its time for the old guy to retire before he goes completely coo coo

  5. Clearly sees Liverpool as a rival unlike Arsenal :)

  6. hienze was a good player silvestre is past is best and as played very little over last 2 seasons

  7. god knows they are both ****

  8. Because the old grump hates liverpool because he's jealous of all our past glories which he has had to experience in the 70's 80's and 00's.

  9. Heinze meanz beanz....

    Fergie likes his beanz.

edit.. or is it Beanz Meanz Heinze.. ? lol Anyway. That's why.

  10. you need to watch football. I play soccer but i watch football.... :)

    watching soccer is boring

  11. I think it was a good decision afterall he was not a member of first 11 of ManU.

  12. different level of rivalry. Besides they've been trying to unload Mikel for a while.

  13. I DONT NO WHAT FERGIE IS THINKING NOW HE IS TOTALLY BEHIND BERBA

HEY EVEN UR PIC IS RONALDO THE GOD U SHLD LIKE ME THEN

  14. coz liverpool are a threat to utd and arsenal are no threat at all......

  15. fergie likes Arsenal better than liverpool. evenwhen wenger and fergie hate each other....deep down they have some "friendship" and respect for each other becouse of there history together and rivalry for the past 11 years.

  16. Heinze was at his peak, still an awesome player, selling him to Liverpool would have improved them vastly, Silvestre is 31 at the end of his career, injury prone, can't offer a lot, won't improve Arsenal much...that should explain why... i don't believe for one second, he likes Arsene more than Benitez or Arsenal than Liverpool

@Mr Kennedy: We have Evans and Brown to cover them, shift Brown to CB, Evans to RB or play Neville...honestly its not the end of the world...sheesh.

  17. Because Silvestre is old and useless and Fergie doesn't want him anymore. Why have him if you've got Evra.

  18. Heinze was a first team regular and a good player. When was the last time silvestre was in the first team line-up.

  19. Heinze was good, and Silvestre is c**p. I'm not sure if he will improve Arsenal in any way

  20. because obviously he knows what he is doing

AND he gave silvestre away for a small reward

what do you think the reason is?you tell me

  21. i cant belive he has let him go ?

    whats the point of that

now we have lost pique and silvestre

so if ferdy or vids gets crocked we are in the shite...

  22. Heinze was a much higher class of player than Silvestre who has never really made any position his in defence. Why would fergie keep him around?? only thing he was doing was pushin the wage bill higher, if he cant get into the first team and arsenal want him, let him go... its good business... the real question should be what are arsenal doing buying reserve players when they want to challenge for the prem. You don't win titles with reserve players

  23. Silvestre will score own goals for arsenal but not Heinze

  24. Mutual respect between Ferguson and Wenger has grown over the years, obviously not so much with Rafa. But im still not convinced that Silvestre is going to be a god buy for Arsenal, cheap yes, but good ... well lets just wait and see.

  25. I think there's a method in his madness, let Silvestre come to us when he 's on the last year of his contract anyway, and in the future if he bids for a arsenal player or even an ex one ( Henry for example) then he won't look so bad as we've already got one of your players!? just a thought.

  26. they are 2 completely different situations, Heinze (although had lost his place due to injury) was still very much in Sir Alex's plans as he is a quality player who could play LB and CB (don't forget Vidic wasn't as accomplished as he is now) and he still had at least 3 good seasons left in him so there was no way he would sell him to a rival especially not Liverpool. Silvestre on the other hand has a number of players ahead of him in Man Utd's defence also he is at the end of his career hence the reason we only sold him for such a small price.

I don't think Sir Alex will ever sell a squad player to Liverpool he would probably not even let a youth player leave for them if he could help it!

@ Jack B - Silvestre is more than just a reserve player he will take something to Arsenal that they are severely lacking... experience. He will be a great asset to them!

  27. cause silvestre sucks and is more injury prone than heinze!

  28. Well i think Heinze is a much better defender than Silvestre even though Silvestre has much more experience. Also, like Marky was saying i think the rivalry between Wenger and Fergie has mellowed, it was evident when Fergie consoled him after we played them near the end of last season. However, i think its stupid that people have wrote off Silvestre even before he has been given a chance, the guy is versatile, agile and has a bit of speed and obviously experience. Also, it seems the Arsenal fans aren't happy just because he never featured regularly for United recently and they were promised a big player, but they should realise they have bought a very capable player at a bargain price. Fergie didn't keep him for 9 years for nothing. Also, we needed to ease the wage bill before any signing which would come soon.
