Question:

How come ghosts aren't everywhere?

Why is it they always seem to be in an old house... Or old graveyard... Why not some track home in the burbs? Which brings up another thought; they're usually in olllllld towns as well, in places like, Virginia or Pennsylvania.

I would think by this point in time every squareinch of the earth has had a person die on it, wouldn't most of the world be "portals" for these spirits then?

I've been wondering about this lately, thanks to shows like "A Haunting" :P Whaddya think?

  1. Strange isn't it? I never understand that since the Indigenous people of Australia have been here for 40 thousand years why our houses aren't all infested by resentful Aboriginal ghosts.

Of course if you realize that there are no ghosts it all makes perfect sense.

  2. Graveyards are not generally haunted.  I have only found one that had any activity.  And it was minimal.  I have been to several places that are considered old, but there is no activity at all. That is because there are not any people there.  Ghosts are attracted to human emotion.  If there is no one ever in the area, there will be no ghosts.  Why are schools and theaters haunted?  There are not usually deaths there.  The ghosts are attracted to the high human emotion found at these places.  But this is only my opinion.

  3. because they don't exist.

  4. I think they ARE everywhere but only have enough energy to manifest  SOMETIMES.

  5. I got my first ghost when I was ten years old.  His ectoplasmic head is mounted over my fireplace.  I have nineteen ghosts since then, all stuffed and mounted in my ghost trophy room. The normal human would see only empty plaques, the sensitive would see whatever I told them was there. Ghost hunting is wonderful, you don't need proof, just the ability to make others believe.

  6. They are everywhere, which always bugs me that there is no proof of them at all.  Your super psi field frightens them all away.  You are closeminded to things that are imaginary.

  7. Ghost are everywhere, they're just as likely to be in the 'burbs as some creaky old house in New England.  Graveyards are less least likely place for ghost, although there have been a few hauntings in different ones.  Those are the exception, not the rule.  It is possible to have paranormal activity in any given area but it not have an actual haunting.

  8. They are every where.  you just dont know

  9. If you were suddenly a ghost & the whole universe became your playground, would you really want to hang around here on earth?...lol...

  10. Most places that are "haunted" aren't necessarily old.  The theory is that most people won't know something is haunted unless something happens to cause the spirit to become apparent. Such as a renovation. Which in most cases people don't typically renovate a new home.  Let's say for example my great great grandfather built his first home in 1910 and he lives in it every day of his life. When he died his memory will live on through the house. You won't necessarily know it, unless it changes. Someone takes out a wall, or someone closes out a doorway.  These are so-called triggers.

People may think ghosts or spirits aren't real, and really it's hard to prove unless you are physically there and witness it. It's natural to be skeptical. I was. But with everything that's happened in my life and things that I have seen and experienced I believe in the ability to linger. If not but a memory.  Either way, if you have ever seen Ghost Hunters, you should watch it. It teaches you a lot about spirits. It also can teach you that there isn't really anything to be afraid of.

  11. they go to old places cause theyre old..duhh :]

but i think its cause they died there or something..

    hah

  12. Old places are likely to be lived in and so retain alot of energy. The energy is called an "echo" it replays itself over and over again-an event or emotion.

Many investigators cannot (respectfully i say this) tell the difference between a real entity and an echo.

Earthbounds need a lot of energy to survive and so are all over the place-mostly in areas with a lot of ppl-hospitals, airports, malls..

Generally they go where there is the energy, or where they hav etheir attachment too.

Gravesites are the least likely to have an earthbound b.c there are no LIVING ppl to have energy from.

Sometimes grieving people leave behind emotions/echos.

To the poster who speaks about aboriginal souls- well, there's no reason for them to have to stay earthbound. They probably crossed over. Earthbounds are not as common as it is to cross over.

    .

  13. Maybe there are more chances of them being in old places because more people have lived there over the years. I do understand what you're saying. Seems like every little space on earth should be filled with them. So....maybe there are other places to go besides earth.Maybe these spirits choose the earth to hang around. I think it's either this..or there's no such thing as spirits. If there's no such thing as spirits...then who or what is it that millions of people have seen and experienced?

  14. They are everywhere, I have seen or felt their presence just about everywhere I ever lived. Sometimes I can feel a presence riding in the car with me. I had one come up to me where I work in the hospital, and this building was brand new.

Some are ghost trapped temporarily until they are able to transcend. Some are seeking their way to the other side as they just recently died, and some are spirits that have transcended to the other side and come to visit.

Some people are sensitive and open enough to see and feel their presence, we are never alone.

  15. But they are.You have to be psychic like me to detect them.People killed in car accidents. The roads are full of spirits.People murdered in the bush.Theres a lot of spirits in the bush.Spirits of drowned people and children near the river and beach.Even some modern houses are haunted. Some old houses have more than one spirit and there are more haunted houses than people realize.40% of spirits in houses do not cause any problems at all.People in theses houses do not relise they are living with a ghost.

  16. Shows like "A Haunting" are grade-A bullcrap. If you take them for mildly amusing stories and fables, fine. But in no way are those shows documentaries, and they have absolutely no level of truth to them (except for the people's mental illnesses on those shows who make them see the "demons" or whatever).

Ghosts aren't real, because people don't have spirits. When you die, worms eat your body in the ground and you decompose. That's it. Nothing else has ever been scientifically proven.

  17. Well graveyards are obvious.  Because dead bodies are buried there.

As far as old homes are concerned, well old homes are more likely to have a history, which means there's more of a chance something bad could have happened there, like a murder or some crazy dude who kept his family in the basement.  Or something.  Also, older houses tend to creak more and have other noises, which increases people's paranoia.

I couldn't say whether the sight of an old, decrepit house is intrinsically spooky, or whether such images have been associated with spookiness for so long that most people alive today automatically make the association.

Also, a lot of older houses are gothic, and I think they have kind of a spooky look because they sort of look like a face.  A face making a spooky face :)

  18. Ghosts (spirits) are everywhere, it's just that people expect them to be in old places, so they are more receptive to seeing them or experiencing things there.  Graveyards are actually not "the most active", it's just that again, we expect them to be there and are open to it, so we experience things there.  For those who are "open" (Psychic mediums, etc), the spirits will come to them wherever they are, sort of like having an open sign on.

The reason that places like Virginia are very active is that SO much death occurred there at one time (Civil War).

I agree that Haunting is probably not the best show to watch to learn about how paranormal things work.  I suggest Ghost Whisperer (while not 100% accurate), it is pretty good and Medium.

  19. Of course Ghost are not real.

But that said about 63 billion people have lived on earth if they were placed next to each other they could all fit on the British Isles with room to spare.

So the Earth has plenty of space.

  20. They can be, as far as I can tell. The place doesn't have to be old or creepy--heck, the 'presence' may not know WHERE it is. I've been formulating a theory as to what causes 'ghostdom', (many before me have, also), and not all ghosts are evil. They are people who have not, for whatever reason, chosen to leave Earth and accept their new life in Heaven. Unfinished business, fear of the Light, plain ignorance of 'what to do'? Maybe they are having fun. We'll find out when it's our turn. Turn off the lights when you go!

  21. I'm going to make a wild guess and suggest perhaps the setting causes someone with a fantasy-prone personality to misinterpret natural events as paranormal.

  22. ghost are real but its only coming from the energy that you created.....most of The  time its your own thought, imagination and energy......YOU brought an unwanted present to your house
