  1. Well, too short shorts are meant for the beach in Italy. If an Italian girl wears them in the city does not only attract all the attention of the people around (good and bad) but also it's not a charming or stylish way to visit or go around a city. In other countries you see shorts everywhere...even on people who could better not wear them!

  2. i'm italian...and i wear shorts (not just on the beach!)

    kisses from italy

where will you go in italy?

  3. Bullshit. I had an Italian student here in Ireland from Rome last summer.

She had shorts on near everyday..and this is in IRELAND!!!!!!

When I went to Rome to watch AS Roma play in September 2005, it was quite hot, and people would wear shorts.

  4. Wearing shorts is not disrespectful. Italian women do not wear  shorts too often because of the comments they get from men and to them it is not fashionable to wear them out on the town. You will see them in skirts and  light weight pants during the summer months.  At the beach  you may see them wearing  a light weight skirt, light weight summer dress, or a wraparound. You will see the younger girls wearing shorts at the beach.

However, If you want to  wear shorts, go right ahead.  Be yourself.  Everyone will know that you are a tourist, but in my opinion, you have to be yourself.

Please do not wear shorts into any of the churches. A skirt,  a dress  or  a pair of pants (slacks) for a woman  are acceptable in the church. No bare shoulders in the churches (No tanks)Your shoulders must be covered.

  5. Italian women know how to dress and they do it well.... They do wear shorts sometimes, but usually it is either a skirt or pants. It is much better that way as shorts are usually for men in the fashion world.

  6. It's absoluteley not disrespectuful, but it's..... a tourist thing:-)

If you like them it's ok, but people would recognise from miles away that you're not a local.

it's only that we pay attention to trends, and shorts are really out....
