  1. They wear it because in volleyball, you are constantly moving around, and if you were required to wear regular shorts, they would catch the wind and fly up all the time. Plus you are jumping and sometimes reaching for a pass, or rolling on the floor. I have seen some girls wear regular shorts at my practice, super scary stuff.
