  1. its just like anything in life you will have to deal with it but you shouldnt play for money lol

    im kidding

  2. Happens to everyone.  Its just that the better you get, there is more consistency and less of those days.  A lot of things can contribute to it.  Its like getting the shanks in golf.  The best advice I got on it was this.  I was having a bad day shooting, and I was talking to a pretty good player and told him about my bad day.  He said "There is no such thing as a bad day or even bad game, just a bad shot.  Bare down and make the next shot a good one."  Remember to do all the right things, form, concentration, stare down the ball, good stroke and follow threw.  Go back to the basics and you'll start to get out of the slump.  Good luck and keep rackn em up!

  3. maybe you feel more focussed on some days. maybe lack of sleep might cause you to not play as well because your not as focussed.

  4. I used to have an optimum beer level when I played pool at uni.

Not enough and I sucked, too much and I sucked, but there was a level in the middle where I was a pool queen!

  5. Thats just the way the ball rolls.  We all have our ups and downs.   Sometimes it's just your mood - Smile at the hooks and focus on only the table as it is.  Do not ponder the past shots,  because when you are up, you are the one in control - If you don't have a shot, do everything in your power not to leave your competition a shot - but if you must make sure it's a hard one.  Playing good leaves can give you the confidence to change your mood and therefore, your game.

  6. yeah like what the person said above, concentration is the key, its very important.

its the same with me, i always play pool but concentration is really important. just try concentrating and you will see.

  7. We all have our off days in everything we do. I see you have off days in spelling and grammar considering you are a university student

  8. Unfortunately, this is a problem every competitor deals with.  Your diet changes day to day, your emotions change day to day, your health changes day to day.  Your pool game, unfortunately, is no different.  Even IQs have a +/- 10 point variance.  The best thing you can do is have a short memory when playing poorly and a good memory when playing well.

Tim Gallwey's book "The Inner Game of Tennis" is a favorite among a lot of pool players I know (just replace any tennis reference for a pool one).  It won't be long before you learn to enjoy the ups and downs of your game and how to minimize the duration of your slumps and their frequency.

  9. I think alot depends on your mood. Eating the right stuff helps too to improve mood and concentration.

  10. All in the concentration

  11. 2 pints good

    4 pints bad

  12. No, but concentration helps!

  13. Everybody has their off days.  Keep practicing...the key to a really good player is consistency.
