How come i always hear that the drinking water in mexico is bad. is it really and why?

i'm just wondering why the drinking water in mexico is bad...from what i hear (i've never been there, or tasted there water). but why is the drinking water bad?

the bacteria and other content in their water is different from the US, so your stomach is not used to it. Because of this, you'll get the runs.

actully if you drink bottled water you'll be perfectly fine but many people say that in Mexico there are many germs and bacterias that people in the us's bodys aren't used to and can get us very sick and I wouldn't advise drinking mexicos water

Drinking water in Mexico is bad because there are parasites in it. The parasites cause diarrhoea, stomach cramping, nausea, light-headedness, and fever.
