  1. Maybe you need to study some every day instead of just the night before a quiz/test?

Maybe you're just trying too hard and getting too nervous over quizzes/tests?  Some people just don't test well because of nerves.  Maybe it would help to do some calming exercises before taking the quiz or test?

Study early instead of waiting until just before bedtime, then relax and sleep well.

Learn or develop a real study method instead of just rereading the material.  Try the SQ3R method.  Or PQRST or KWL.  (google it!)

  2. It's similar to cramming. you do NOT learn the information and it doesn't register when it comes to the applicaton, e.g. not doing well on tests. I encourage others to use this methodology for studying. take a topic, then study another topic, and see how the first interrelates to the second.

A better way to say this is

    Study A

    Study A+B

    Study A+B+C

and so fourth until you have it covered. Just to make sure you have it down, take a break for a few hours, and comeback to it. If it looks familiar, then you may be in good shape. If it still looks foreign, then I suggest you speak with your teacher.
