Think about this please. I'm interested in worthwhile input.
If we measure our congress based on what they do for us, essentially what pork they are able to steer to our area, don't we encourage the abuse of our own government?
The more the government spends the more it can ask for the next year. If there are extra funds it's always spent on whatever can be justified.
Why aren't there more willing to stand up and say "enough is enough!"? It goes without saying that if someone did, say a member of congress, they'd be "blackballed" and shunned by the rest of congress for making waves. It's also a given that if they did their constituancy would think them lame for not bringing any "pork" home.
Isn't this backwards?
How do you suggest we fix this?
I wonder if greed and a "spend it while we got it" attitude has overtaken common sense.
And this isn't a Democratic or Republican issue...they ALL march to the same tune!
Would term limitations help?
Ideas?
