One minute i putt it too short and the next it is too long. How do i get more consistant. I am on the practice green and i hit 2 balls and so anyone wondering it is not long/short because of a different slope or anything. Sooo...how to get more consistant??

  1. the link below has some free lessons to better putting

  2. practice more, when you take your putter, make a click sound in your head, and when you bring it forward do the same.  it's like a clock, click..click.  you should try to have the same stroke everytime.  this also works for keeping a good tempo when you swing.

  3. dont think about how much force u put behind the ball, think about how far u bring ur arms back and start using that to make ur speed consistent. so- like use the same force but just bring the putter back different lengths for different distances. make sure ur arms are the only part of ur body moving when u putt.

  4. The first thing you have to do to putt well and consistently is to develop a putting stroke which will vary only in intensity relative to the distance you want to achieve. On the practice green start with a few short putts for warm up: short back and follow through. Go to another spot about 10 feet from the hole and you will need a longer backstroke with a longer follow through . The stroke is still smooth. Now try from a still longer distance where the takeaway is longer and smooth and the follow through is as long as the takeaway was.. In this manner you will develop a mindset that lengths of putts require longer takaways than shorter putts. Once you have developed a good putting stroke practice varying the stroke on every putt by putting to various targets of different lengths and not to the same target.

  5. You are using the wrong ball, Go to Gatlinburg Tn at Hillbilly Golf and use one of their putt putt balls. They roll truer than any ball on the market.
