How come if you stick to the speed limit and keep a safe distance from the vehicle in front?

This is a common misconception. It strikes me that you haven't been driving very long.  

Drive at a speed and distance that YOU feel comfortable with.  What the following vehicles do, is their business. Never feel you have to speed up because of them.

Never feel threatened by tailgaters, and never flash your brake light at them.  The other thing to do is never EVER make eye contact with a tailgater because there are some very strange people out there.

Because they are ignorant, and they seem to think driving that way will intimidate them into make you go faster. Dont let them!! I often flash my rear fog light on, i'm lucky I have 2, frightens the c**p out of them when they think I'm braking lol

Some people are stupid and tail gate (the occurrence you're talking about). What you have to do is break early, just cover your brakes so your lights come on. This will help control the traffic behind you.

Drivers that do c**p like that are just plain stupid. Sometimes it takes an accident to make people wake up and drive safer and it sad to say that some people never wake up. They continue to cause accidents and get tickets and eventually they lose their license.

I have driven things with wheels since 1969 and I find the behaviour on the roads appalling at times.Drive at your own pace and ignore these morons , they are driving without consideration for other road users which is a requirement of the highway code, so really they are not fit to drive are they?.

I love it when young lads do it to me, i have a fast car but i aint in a rush! 30 mph is there for a reason! I love it when you slow down, drop a gear and ask the lad/lads what their problem is?

More often than not they act aggresive, this i find is the right opportunity to get my 6"2 16 stone *** out of my car and beat them!

Because most people speed.  You are doing the right thing by following the speed limit, etc.., so don't change that.

I'll have to admit, I'd probably be one of the people behind you blowing the horn :-)  I know that's terrible, but I can't help it.  I can usually TOLERATE someone going the speed limit, but if you are going a second below it, I lose my mind!!  Especially if we are on a road where I can't go around you.
