  1. Yes. Excluding a race, whatever that race may be, is racist.

  2. It is a contradiction.  America was founded on equal protection under the law, but we had slavery.  Now the blacks are "seeking revenge" (for lack of a better term), with BET, Black History Month, and even affirmative action.  It is racist for whites to do anything that excludes blacks, but it is fine for blacks to exclude whites.  It is the same with saying the "N" word to a black person.  But your argument would also be valid towards Latinos, Jews, Muslims, or any other minority.

I have nothing against different races or ethnicities (in fact, there are many beautiful people in these other groups.  However, you are correct, it is racist.  I don't think the creators of exclusive programs intend to be racist, but there is a big double standard here.  Our ancestors made the mistakes with slavery; we did not.  Why can't we co-exist in peace?

  3. 110 Years of Jim Crow have presented a number of pragmatic alternative solutions for African Americans.  Separate economic structures function independently of racist customs and practices.

The AME Church is an excellent example.  African Americans were discriminated against in houses of worship.  Richard Allen and other African Americans founded the African Methodist Episcopal church to worship independent of discriminatory rules.

Beauty pageants have been implicit and explicit expressions of "White Beauty".  There is an entire majority economy supportive of those physical attributes that "whites" identify as beautiful.  The popularity of viewers preference interacts dynamically with sponsors.

Segregation had the unintentional benefit of perpetuating generically independent operations for the economic and social interests of African Americans.  Johnson Publishing, Founded by John H. Johnson is another example of creative innovation to further the interests of African Americans.  People interested in physical aesthetics of African Americans can identify with the full page beauty posing in Jet Magazine.  Black Beauty Pageants follow this pattern of independent economic structures.

People with carte blanche access to mainstream economic and social structures have already benefited from the Jim Crow advantages of racial discrimination.  Pageants have been white allowances all along.

What is your economic remedy for 110 years of Jim Crow?

  4. what's a padgent? maybe there were not enough beautiful black women (which are just as many out there) being picked for the other paDgents to take part in.

  5. I found your n**i avatar very offensive but I would agree that their shouldn't be events just for one race or colour and that people of all races and colours should be allowed to join in.

  6. it's an attempt to reclaim black culture.

do you think in the 1950s there were black women in miss america?  no way!

  7. White people are far more tolerant to institutionalized racism than minorities who've fought against it.  I think white people feel guilty or feel sorry for others so they don't want to raise a stink about racism when they see it.  There's a huge double standard, because people tolerate it.  Well they shouldn't!  We can't have equality if we don't at least have equal expectations of behavior or capability!

  8. are you a ******* n**i MAN SEEK HELP FAST

  9. wats with you? you need help and fast? something must of happen to you or something, seek help?

  10. I'm inclined by your n**i avatar to say no, but I have to agree with you. Do you know they have black book shops where other races aren't allowed? I think any ethnic exclusivity is racist.

  11. I think it's stupid. To paraphrase Adrianne Curry, who boycotts BET and Black History Month, slavery happened along time ago, people need to get over it.  Seriously, at my school there is a club for every race imaginable, and some kid merely breached the idea of an Irish-American club, or even a 'Caucasian' Club, and even the teacher called him racist.  Are we equal or not? Goodness, it's hard to be white these days...

  12. It's life-So many paradoxs and contridictions-Get use to it.

  13. I mean... there are white beauty pageants.  who was the last black miss america you saw?  the whole scene is dumb and based entirely on the wrong morals and priorities... but the point is that black beauty pageants create a niche for a group of people who have been generally excluded from the larger pageant scene.  institutionalized racism results in "legitimate" reasons for their lack of representation, such as considering a black woman unattractive but while judging her features against that of a stereotypical white female model's bone structure.

the inherent prejudices in the system have necessitated them in order for those who are of other ethnicities but still (for reasons unknown to me) want to participate in pageants to be able to.

  14. I hate to say it, but it seems like so many black people in the U.S. are still not over slavery.....therefore they think that they are entitled to special treatment, which, if it were a white person, would be considered racist. Go figure.

If we do anything for whites only, the NAACP is all over it, and crying about it.....but somehow it's ok for them. That's called a double standard, or better yet, hypocracy.

  15. Its called Hypocrisy. Just like there is Black Entertainment Television. If Whites do anything like that they are considered racist when truly the only racist are the ignorant Blacks. That will all have to change though after Obama becomes president. Then there should be no reason for prejudice when the man himself is black.

  16. why are there things like Black ***** College Fund and things like that.. Where is the White People college fund?  I can't help it that I am white.. so because there is no special college fund for white people,  blacks are racist.. right?  When I was attempting to find grants/scholarships for college, at least 30% of them had the stipulation that you must be ***** or asian or mexican, etc.. If you were white you could not apply for them.. So by the time you took off the ones for parents, the ones for medical students, etc.. there were none left for caucasions.. i may sound racist but that is true.. People call us white racist if we say what I just said but if they said the same thing it would be called the truth.. I don't get it.

  17. I would agree with anyone who said that if one is allowed, the other should be also, and without interference from groups who are "offended" by either.

But in the real world, the reason white-specific events are so frowned upon is because by and large, all the recorded history of the western world has glorified white folks. Western history is one great big "whiteyfest".

Some day, things will probably swing back around so that either white pageants won't be so bitterly condemned, or black beauty pageants will cease to be appealing to their intended audience. Non-white ethnic events often serve the purpose of trying to glorify a particular race or population that's historically been opressed. The function is definitely useful - being black is still rather stigmatic even in the U.S. Such events bolster morale within the black community and help undo the message that's been drilled into their cultural psyche over the past few centuries. Once those messages and that stigma no longer exist, such events will have finished serving their function and will likely die out as a result of decreased interest.

  18. there are plenty of white pageants. i see them all the time. i wish they would come and shut them down.
