How come in english.....?

Question

we don't pronounce the p in some words of greek origin, like psychology? And also the t in tsunami. Why can't we say two consonants at the beginning of a word?

You don't pronounce the "t" in tsunami?!? Weird. Since finding out that the word is of Japanese origin, I have always pronounced the "t".
