  1. Because not everyone in the world plays football unlike other sports which everyone in the world basicly practices like swimming and soccer.

  2. CUZ AMERICA WOULD OBVIOUSLY WIN

  3. Recovery time between games would limit the entire sport to eight teams at best.  Baseball has an eight team tournament, but they can do pool play and then a four team tournament.  You could have eight teams in a football tournament but it would be single elimination.  The Olympic committee would not be up for that.

Unless someone paid them a lot of money, then they would put anything in there.

  4. Because the sport isn't that widely played - outside of the U.S. and Canada there is very little of what in Spanish is called futbol americano played - and even in that case, Canadian football in the CFL (and Canadian colleges) uses much different rules.  In order to be played in the Olympics, a sport has to be widely played around the world (such as soccer or basketball) - if rugby which is much more widely played around the world doesn't qualify for the Olympics, a sport primarily only played in two countries will not qualify.

There is very little chance that American style football will grow in participatory popularity around the world enough to become an Olympics sport - while soccer or basketball require very little equipment and are thus accessible in poorer countries, American style football requires a ton of equipment and costs a lot of money to field a team.  Add in that other countries have similar sports which are more popular locally (e.g. Australian Rules Football which is completely insane or the aforementioned Rugby which is very popular in South Africa and some European countries) and it is doubtful that American style football will ever grow in popularity around the world to the point where it is an Olympic sport.

  5. because only the US and Canada has organized football leagues.

  6. because it would just be america versus canada (whose rules are only slightly different) since those are the only two countries that play our version of football

  7. Every country will ask the same thing!

"Why don't they have Aussie Rules?"

    (australian football)

No body would agree to play the same game!

You would kick our buts at american rules!

And we would kick yours at aussie rules!

    There would be no competition

  8. Because the United States is the only country that plays it.

  9. for a sport to be olympicly embraced it has to be played all over the world and so far its just the USA, Canada, and European copy cats that are no where near the level that the USA is on maybe in years to come the sport will grow more popular through out the world but for now its just an American sport

P.S. also it wouldn't be that much of a contest USA would blowout opponents and win the gold easily

  10. american football is an american/ kinda canada sport they dont play that type of football anywere else in the world!!!!

  11. no offense but thats a ridiculous question, i can only think of three countries that actually play football, america, canada, and japan, so unless football gets big around the world its not happening.

  12. There are organized American Football leagues on the following Continents:

North, Mid and South America, Europe, Asia, Oceania (Austrailia and NEw Zealand)

There however is a Grid Iron World Cup, and to little suprise the United States won it.

I believe the sport in order to qualify for the olympics needs to be played on at least 5 of the 6 inhabited continents, that is one reason Golf is not also.

  13. Who would we play?

  14. Because olympians arent ready for that kind of sport.

Well they probably are considering how fit they are but idk.

  15. america and canada would be gold silver evey year plus not 2 many countries play football i wish it was a event though

  16. I don't think it's that huge around the world.  And players couldn't take that kind of beating in such a short span of time.  Teams go usually one week between games to allow for recovery.  They couldn't be playing multiple games a day.
