Question:

How come it's OK to castrate animals but not kill them?

I and every man I know would rather die than have his balls taken away. How is it all right to deprive a domestic animal of its s*x, but not to kill an animal for food?

I understand that if house pets were allowed to copulate all willy-nilly, there'd be too many and they'd have to starve or be put to sleep (death), but if their really like people, they are responsible for their own well-being.

I only eat coal, but this incongruity in vegitarian theory is disturbing my strict mindset.

Could it be that....

That animals are NOT "people, too"?

  1. ha. whats funny is the same people who look down at me for hunting and killing animals to control the population or eat, are the same who think its ok to castrate animals to control the population.  Then, see nothing cruel about cutting an animals reproductive organs out, and then keeping it cooped up in a house or even fenced in yard all day.  Then these same people try to force their vegan diets onto their animals.  Absurd.

  2. I heartily agree with you.  Or perhaps do we need to control human reproduction?

  3. Well duh animals aren't people too but we as humans have more common sence so we know not to breed constantly while some animals don't. But just because they don't know when to stop doesn't mean they deserve to be killed and eaten!

  4. Humans have domesticated some animals over thousands of years, so their reproduction is part our responsibility. An example is how un-castrated cats have wiped out whole bird populations. Another thing to remember is animals are not humans, they don't have s*x for pleasure, they go into heat.

  5. animal castration does not equal animal suffering.  s*x and reproduction to an animal is only a biological instinct it does not mean a whole bunch of things like a sign of LOVE as it does too humans.  Castrating an animal will not put the animal to a deep state of depression, they will not even give it a second thought.  What it does do is prevent the suffering to a whole new generation of animals that will most likely not be wanted and not be cared for by society.

  6. What an absolutely absurd question.  Animals need to be fixed and it causes them nearly no pain.  If they were not fixed they would overpopulate the planet.  There are already more dogs and cats than there are loving homes.

Saying that killing and fixing an animal is the same is just ridiculous.  Maybe you should do more productive things with your time like helping people or animals instead of being ignorant to the people who do actually try to make a difference.

Animals aren't people.  That's a fact.  That doesn't mean they deserve to be tortured though. www.meat.org.

Plus an animal doesn't need to have something dangling between it's legs to know that it's male.  Fixing a male dog also makes it less likely to hurt someone as well.

  7. You have to understand: the most "passionate" posters of animal cruelty here are mostly pampered kids.. Some as young as 8. Their understanding of the realities of life is limited at best. You know how fanatical kids can be.

But what is really pathetic (or amusing) is seeing adults contradict themselves: "animals should have the same rights" then "they need to be "controlled", "animals have feelings" then "most of us realize they are just animals", "it is cruel to cut off a beak or a tooth from a pig" then  "it's ok to lop their testicles off because we need population control", "humans should not control animals" then "I'd rather have an animal not be born than live".etc etc etc... it's almost like watching the Three Stooges...

  8. blah i agree with you 100% some animals need to have their s*x privalages taken away because its a proven fact that some rodents have s*x up to 20 times a day. they get pregnate, have their little ones then within 2 months their pregnate again, same like cats and dogs their little ones will be hardly 2 months old and their want 2 get pregnate again
