  1. Because there is more comfort if we do not light our own fire.

  2. The thoughts of all sorts of impossibilities, illusionary,

    ...drenched the torch.

  3. Ahh i see.

    Those who can not do.Teach.

Those who can not teach.Teach through their actions.

Not all humans have the same mental capability's as others. Some times it proves far easier to ignite a flame in someones life than in your own.

  4. The presence of fear either conscious or unconscious.

You have a wonderful day also & thanks for the question.

  5. No fire, be it that in man or in a forest, will start by itself. Always a cause will be needed. And it has been very easy, all too easy, to start a fire elsewhere, in other men or in forests, than in ourselves.

  6. can you clarify the question please?

    ah, thanks for the clarification.

I think that if you just take the example of lighting a real fire it can be explained fairly easy.  In todays world from birth most of us are given sparks to start a fire, metaphorically speaking, to get us motivated.  So we're completely ignorant on how to create a spark of our very own, though we know well how to fan the flames and feed the fire.  Just like in the real world and starting a real fire, its difficult if you've never done it before, getting that first spark to fly is one of the hardest things you'll have ever done but after that first time it becomes easier til you're finally able to light a fire almost without any effort.  Just takes practice cause we're "given" sparks by coaches, parents, teachers, friends, or whomever...

  7. Because only genius has the power to light its own fire.

  8. People lose their power to think independantly because of our educational system and parental attitude.Children before the age of one learn so many things on their own at a fast pace. But later we put them down and systematically erode their self confidence perhaps unintentionally

  9. pure ignorance.  maybe their parents didn't teach them enough about life or maybe that person grew up around alot of negative people and they haven't learnt to move on and embrace life.

  10. The ability to create a chain of reactions positive or negative affecting others is a power. Alighting our own fire is thinking beautiful thoughts and rousing warm and serene feelings. Its hard for needy closed minded people who expect others to be sufficiently inspired enough to give such a gift.

  11. This is the most comforting fact in my mind that we learn from one another, and seek inspiration in each other’s exploits and enterprises. I do not think that there is any real matter of shame in taking a spark from someone to light a torch along the way for all to benefit, as this is all too natural to us human being. This is at least one thing that connects us all together – our love for knowledge and wisdom. If we had not been helping each along I do not believe we would have been able to come this far, to proceed to this level of civilized development.

This is an established fact of human history that since the times of ancient Persians, Greeks, Indian and Chinese the tradition of exchange of wisdom of life has always been with us in its multifarious forms. The partition of the east and west in terms of knowledge and thought is relatively a recent phenomenon; it only dates back to the Renaissance period in Europe, when European tradition of thought and seeking of knowledge re-established itself across the dim and gloomy world of Dark Ages.

In the times of Romans ancient Persians, who called themselves Helleophiles, the lover of Greece, safeguarded the Greek heritage of knowledge. The heritage that Muslim Scholars of later times studied commentated upon, translated and lovingly preserved until 11th century AD when it truly rekindled the spirit of inquiry, rational thought and love for learning in the West.

Then when Ferdinand Magellan, the Portuguese maritime explorer, landed in Philippines archipelago in 1521 the one thing he had that the island people did not was his use of the modern warfare, his clutch of cannons, rifles and ammunitions, with more than half of his comrades either died of scurvy, or deserted along his the arduous journey across the Pacific through the eponymous Strait of Magellan in the Latin American continent.

The fact that even though Ferdinand Magellan just wanted to reach the Spice Islands of Indonesia and back, and thus circumnavigating the Earth, and that he could not complete his journey as he died in the Battle of Mactan in Philippines, his expedition did cause the commencement of the era of European colonization of the Oriental East, and later the Middle East, and the Indian Subcontinent, an era to last more than four centuries. If this had not happen we would not have the map of the world we have today. In that the colonial times massive industrial developments took place, rail networks were built, safe shipping routes established, and entire infra structures of counties were put in place.

Then why go any further back, and why not look around us today. Do we not seek light and guidance from one another? Do I not relish answering our wise questions? I take great comfort in answering questions posted by others as I have live for too long alone in my thoughts, and now when I connect my thoughts and wisdom with the thoughts and insightfulness of others then there is now doubt that I feel fulfilled and connected. I think this is great. I would not journey alone. I would seek worthy companions instead.

With this historical perspective in my mind, and with present situation of the world in view, I can say with full strength of my convictions that we could help build stronger characters, as well as, stronger nations and traditions of learning, only if we worked together, to compare and to share with each other what we undividedly appreciate and have to contribute, something that could make us all happier, wiser and more humane.

I think, quite inadvertently and unknowingly, we all are moving towards that same objective here and in many other places of the world. I believe one day we will begin to realize the value of our efforts in this regard. You, for instance, are doing well and so are many other great people here. But we all need to realize that ourselves and also help others be appreciative of their contributions, that are not only for the good of the individual but also for all people. I hope you will agree with me.

  12. Each man to the limits of his own abilities. Igniting, thoughts, firing the mind, sparking reactions in others, creating thought processes into unventured realms of one’s imagination ...

To each his own destiny and end, travelled to in the shadow of his greater being, alongside the guiding voice of his higher conscious.

  13. Find that fire

    And ignite this flower.

    Bloom and find room

    among our planet.

  14. I think it is because our eyes are pointing away from us.

If we look into our "self mirror" more often, then we will be able to light our own fire more easily and more frequently.

  15. To light a fire you need at the very least a spark and that spark has to come from a fire that is already lit.  All you have to do is stand close to that fire and eventually, if you remain close, at the very least a small spark will reach to you.

It is quite possible that you will become engulfed within the flames until you yourself become the fire and then someone will stand close to you, in the hope that one of your sparks will land upon them.

Very few people have the ability of spontaneous combustion that is why there are so few Masters in the world.

  16. There are people who just can be that strong on this aspect.

This is why we are all One.  Each, must give something of our own warmth and flame to those people.  Maybe this offering will be a spark for their own soul's fire.

And when I say "we", I mean we the people.  I don't imply that I belong the the strong ones.  Enough times I do not have that power to light my own fire ...

  17. I think the fire I believe you are referring to, I imagine never really goes out but is rather feed from outside sources.

    What ignites is fresh fuel.

    Others stoke our fire, best.

Some try & put it out.

    All the best.
