How come lots of people???//

Question

ok im a tomboy (ex..i have short hair,wear baggy shirts,and dont wear much makeup)but how come lots of the girly girls are alaways like looking angry or making fun of me:(im 15 going into 11th grade and the "girly girls"are seriously getting on my nerves??

and also will i be able to get a boyfriend this year? ok im kinda tomboy punkish lol i dunno what to call my style but it would be nice to have a boyfriend

The reason is because you're different than them. I think tomboys don't care how they look like and they love themselves just how they are and they don't try to impress anybody. I myself was and kinda is still a tomboy. I talked to mostly boys because I felt girls were catty and I still do the same now. Don't worry about having a boyfriend. If a guy can't see you for you and only how you are on the outside, he's pretty shallow and you shouldn't waste you're time with him. I know how you feel wanting a boyfriend. I've been through this stage and honestly the only thing that you need is time. If you rush to have one, then more than likely the relationship will end just as fast as it started. Confidence is all a girl really needs. Keep your head up and don't let ANYBODY bring you down. Good luck :).

i can't really explain why people make fun

all i can say is that the older youget the better it gets

there is less teasing, but it will still happen

i think it's mean that people tease, and i wish it would stop...but sadly it prob won't

as for getting a boyfriend, boys will totally check you out whether or not other girls 'approve' or not

It's because the "girly girls" expect all girl to be just like them, s****. and bratty. Haha, its kind of unfair, right? To be judged by how you look. Well, just ignore them because apparently they are bored with their own unoriginal lives.

As for the boys, you can land one, but you have to try. Find some guys friends and flirt with them a lot, find things you have in common with them and muster up the courage to ask the one you like to hang out at the mall or wherever. Since you don't usually put on make up or wear "girly clothes", put it on for a special occasion, like a school dance or a date with a guy. He will hopefully take notice that you like him and find it special.

Some people use laughter and teasing as a defense mechanism. They might not understand you, you're not like them, so they do this as a way of reassuring their position and status.

As far as getting a boyfriend goes, that has nothing to do with your age and how you dress. Yes, certain boys are attracted to certain styles and certain personalities, but for everyone there is a match. He might not be around this year, he could be right next door. Keep an open mind and BE YOURSELF.

some groups are thought of higher if they make fun of people because it means that they are 'cooler' or whatever than the person they are making fun of (most of the time) and they are also just insecure.

Im sure you can find a guy even though you are a tomboy, but it'll be hard to find him if you are a tomboy.

Its okay to be who you are. I use to be a tom boy when i was your age. But if you want to have a relationship than change your apperance and shock everyone. I hated the stuck up girly girls. But as i grew older i realized i can still be a tom boy on the inside. I changed on the outside. I did not date in high school because of the way i looked and the way i dressed but i got a lot of dates when i started to care on how i look.

dont be upset, but you seem a little immature. im 17 going into senior yr/college, i wear baggy shirts and hardly any makeup...kinda tomboyish.  so dont take offense.

there shouldnt be any boundary between 'girly girls' and 'tomboys'.  my 12 year old sister talks about that kind of stuff.  no one in 11th and 12th grade tak like that anymore.  

people are just people.  you need to feel comfortable in your own skin.  the girly girls probably feel just like you.  they are going through being a teenager.....its hard!

if you are just kind, friendly, as nice as can be, no one is going to look at you that way or make fun of you.

and if anyone did (which they wont) then they are just not dealing well with stress in their life. so cut them some slack, they cant help being jerks! lol

its good that you have your own style, it shows confidence, try out some new things and expand your horizons.  maybe a little change of style (but thats still uniquely you and that you like regardless of other people) would make you seem more approachable, less scary, less tomboyish (if you want to be)

there is a lot of growing to do for every one at this age.  i had 2 boyfriends in 7th grd, one in 8th, 5 in 9th, NONE in tenth, and 2 in eleventh and ive been with the last one for almost 7 months.

so every year is different, you might not have a boyfriend until you're 20, or you might have 10 next year.  who knows.  THE POINT IS....dont worry about it.

just work on yourself, be the best person you can be, plan for your future, GET GOOD GRADES.  (you will really regret doing poorly in school, there are NO do-overs!)

eventually, someone will come along, you will have a relationship with him, and itll be fun....that's all....nothing to be concerned about right now.

and i just want you to know that no one is judging you.  THEY ARE ALL TOO CONCERNED WITH THEMSELVES TO BE CONCERNED WITH YOU.

if someone hurts your feelings, is rude, embarasing you, making fun of you, or just being mean it is because they gain from it (makes them feel good, makes their friends laugh, etc.)  it has nothing to do with you really.  so just blow it off.  and if it keeps happening, walk right up to them, and calmly and nicely tell them that you are really sorry if youve offended them and if there is some reason that they are acting that way that you would like to know....act concerned. lol

its actually really funny because they're embarrased at your maturity, and they also start seeing you as a real person with CONFIDENCE.....not somebody to pick on.

Maybe those girls are just jealous of you. Ive come across many tomboy punkish looking girls, and many guys like them. Trust me, they get tired of the fake superficial stuff, they want someone with a personality. I suggest you dont stress over it, i assure you that if you stop looking for a boyfriend, one will come your way and it'll be wonderful. Its only high school, dont stress, enjoy junior year and make good grades...don't settle for being someone you don't want to be. Be yourself and be confident!
