  1. Because female gymnastics and male gymnastics require very different things.

Male gymnastics requires much physical strength, especially upper-body strength. Events like the rings, pummel horse, and uneven bars can be performed better by very strong men. Men reach their physical peak in their 20s.

Female gymnastics call for athletes to be more flexible, nimble, and small. Their light bodies can flip around uneven bars, or on flat ground, or on the high bar much higher and faster if they are smaller.

I'm not saying either is better than the other, either. I'm just saying the sport for the two genders is fundamentally different.

  2. No reasons really.  It all depends on if your body can withstand that stuff when you're older.  There is a female gymnast from Germany that's in her 30's.

    Hope I helped! (: ♥

  3. Most mean need to develop more muscle in order to compete and most of them start later then the female gymnasts.

The truth is Women lose flexibility as they get older. That older women from germany didn't do well and so that is why it would be a suprise if anybody other then shawn and briddget sloan come back.

  5. because men's gymnastics are based more on strength and power.

    still rings, pommel horse, etc.

women's gymnastics are more about flexibility and grace.

    balance beam, etc.

i'm guessing your flexibility decreases over time but your muscular strength stays about the same.

  6. I think is is like that because in mens gymnastics many of the things they do has to do with strength and a 25 year old is going to have more muscle then say a 15 year old male. In the womans it is more about flexibility and  agility and more 15 years olds have that then 25 year old females.
