How come many great bands don't come to Los Angeles?

I like so many bands but they never seem to come to LA. I have wanted to see the Foo Fighters for so long but they have stayed back east and Canada. I thought LA had a great music sceane too.

There are a lot of things that are changing the way artists tour. Now LA is a huge market for sure but you have to look at each artist individually, in this economy a band may choose smaller venues that cost them less to appear at. There are plenty of venues is So Cal but it is kind of like goldie-locks... Some venues are too big, some are too small, and some are just right. The fuel costs alone have forced some bands off of the road. When the Foo Fighters have a new CD to push you can bet you will find them down there for you to go and check out.

I live in Sacramento and I deal with the same problem... bands either play in San Francisco or Oakland, San Jose, maybe Reno or Tahoe... fewer artists are making stops here in Sacto....
