  1. costs money to transport milk and operate farm equipment these days. Both run on gasoline.

    Work out the cost of a pound/kilo of that stringy cheese

  5. Because most things cost more than gas and people don't realize it. In canada gas is about $1.25/litre... .. THink of how much you pay for... nail polish or liquid paper? way over $1000/litre! bottled water is about the same as gas. Cola is often more. TONS of things are WAY more than gas and peopl;e don't even think about it.  

  6. Because the people that supply this milk (to you), tend not to work for free.  They're sorta funny that way.
