how come multi-touch technology has been around since 1987 yet it has only really become recognized with the likes of iphone/ipod touch and microsoft surface?

surely such a great design would be widely appreciated and used...?

  1. Maybe because it just doesn't matter.

    The iPhone and iPod are for those who care too much about fashion anyway.
