  1. I think the brackets are supposed to be in the middle of your tooth, so maybe part of your tooth is under your gum.

  2. It depends on where your teeth need to be moved.

When I got my braces I had brackets at the top and bottom, side....so I understand. I thought to myself "why are they not in the center of my teeth?"

he explained to me that placing them at different areas of the teeth will pull them into a new location.

It's strange, I know...BUT we didnt go to dental school so just trust him! Im sure he knows what he is doing....

    I hope this helps!

  3. It has to do with making your teeth come down more or stay the way they are. My dentist did my braces like that too but they were up really high.

  4. The size and shape of your teeth may have something to do with this.  Since every case is different, orthodontists will have different placement for different patients.  However, the brackets should be consistent in their placement.  For example, they should all be equal distance from the bottom/top of the tooth.  If you have doubts about it, get a second opinion.

  5. It all has to do with how your teeth need to move. Your orthodontist thinks they are where they need to be, then that's where they need to be.

My braces on the bottom seem really low to me, but that's where they are supposed to be. My ortho checks them every appointment.
