My chinchilla is always sleeping on his side. He doesn't seem to do anything else awkwardly. Is he sick or something?

  1. No worries, your chinchilla is fine. My boys lay on their sides all of the time, Shadow will even sleep on his back, wedged between the sleep house and the top of the cage. As long as he's still eating, drinking, defecating, and urinating all right, he's fine. If you notice he's limping and he's laying on his side because of a foot or leg injury, then you may want to see a vet.

  2. My chinchilla does this all the time, don't worry he is fine. If he likes laying on his side you should get him a hammock for his cage. Mine love to sleep in it. hope this helps

  3. i have no clue... but chinchillas are CUTE :D

  4. this seems perfectly normal for a chinchilla-- it's probably his most comfortable sleeping position! don't forget to give him a dust bath every now and then, too!

  5. hes probally sick

  6. maybe he's dead

  7. it might just be that this is the way that he is comftorbal most. if he is still eating, i would say that he is not sick. hes just found a new way to sleep.

  8. I have a chinchilla and sometimes he sleeps completely spread out front legs right out and back legs right out, it looks really comical . I really dont think there is anything wrong with him at all. As answered previously he is  probably just comfortable like this..

  9. take him to the vet
