  1. Just keep playing with him and pet him. When he groes a little bigger he will become very active. Thats what happend to my cockatiel but we kept playing with him and he eventually became very active.

  2. Give him a little bit more time.

If he is tame, get him out and play with him. My bird loves to play peek-a-boo, or "I'm gonna get you" - for this I walk my fingers to him and then grab his beak lightly. It may take a while for him to know what you are doing, but he will eventually play along.

  3. he may not know how to play with his toys. you will have to show him. put lots of toys on the floor and bring him out, then play with them yourself. show him how fun it is, then see if he'll do the same. wrap treats around the toys so he gets the idea if nothing else works. soon he will be playing. my cockatiel did not play until just a few weeks ago and hes three years old. my budgie played with them after a few weeks.

  4. I had a male cockatiel that did the same thing. He never played with toys the 15 years that I had him. He was a very happy bird though. I then had a female cockatiel that LOVED to play with her toys. I really think it depends on the bird. As long as the bird is healthy and there is noting wrong him then you should be fine. :)
