How come my directv h20 has an IP conflict?

How do I configure my router or Directv hr20 to get me online without power cycling every few hours? I want to take advantage of the ONDEMAND feature by can not connect.

Power down all your networked devices.

Reboot your router then connect devices back one at a time.

If the problem persists assign to your Directtv box a fixed IP outside of the range of IPs provided by your router's DHCP server.
