is it about the eye doctor's office making more money so you have to come back quicker and spend more money on another checkup? don't tell me it is because you can only get a year's supply of contacts because what if you wear your glasses half of the year and your contacts last 18 months before you need more. Is this a state law or does it vary by each doctor? Why not allow people to keep their old prescption if they want? So what if people get a new contact prescption that is stronger than their old glasses prescription, whose to say you aren't still going to wear those old glasses after you get the new contacts....people are allowed to skirt the system and look throught their old lenses that way, so why not just give them the old contacts too.

  1. uhh your questions kinda confusing but i get new glasses and contact perscriptions every year and ive lived in three different states where they did that so i think you need to find another dr. if they wont let you get new contacts and glasses perscription. or you  can just ask them to write you up a glasses perscription and go get glasses somewhere else they cant refuse you if they are you need to find another dr.

  2. The idea of the contact prescription being good for just one year is to force people back in to have the eye health checked. Not so much the prescription, but the health of the cornea.

Contact lens wearers are much more apt to develop corneal problems , and the sooner it is caught, the easier it can be treated.

Not to mention other problems that contacts can cause, mainly because of misuse.

At least...that's what the reasoning is behind it.
