How come my laptop never keeps the right time & date??

Every time I turn it on it will have the time I switched it off????

  1. Old laptop ?

    Could be it needs a new internal lithium battery.


  2. It is most likely the battery that is inside the computer. Just open up the laptop and it is about the size of a quarter take it out and go to radio shack or fry's and get a new one, plop it back in reset the time and it should fix the problem. It happened on a couple of pc's that I have it is a quick fix.
