My mom took the citizenship test in 2006, she passed with flying colors, she paid the fees, she did everything she was supposed to, and about a week ago, we got a letter saying that her case has been denied.

  1. My guess would be that she was here illegally. The letter should tell you.

  2. i don't know from the info given but i can gess. 1st they reached the limit of imigrents from here contry for this year. and 2nd they have tied her 2 iligal or terist orginisations (i'm NOT saying she is). i hope this helped but it probibly didn't. sorry.

  3. it could be that the officer felt that although she could answer the citizenship test questions, you mother just did not understand the english language sufficiently or did not have the capability to communicate clearly in english. but if your mother does speak and communicate clearly then she can file an appeal only thing is the appeal will cost her almost as much as the application fee.

  4. Well it could be because the countries have certain amounts of immigrants taht can become US citz in that year. So she may  have been denied due to that, or also they may have found something in either that fact she has broken the law, something outstanding or she was abroad for too long.

Ususally the letter will states that. She is not  US citz till she takes the oath and recieves her Naturaliztion papers stating she is one.

  5. because probabbly she went somewhere abroad to stay for some time long like 1 year or sommet : did sh??

  6. Typically the letter would explain why you have been denied.

If it does not, then you can make an InfoPass appointment with your local USCIS office to speak to an immigration officer and obtain details.

Go to http://infopass.uscis.gov/ to schedule an appointment.
