i have a 1000 watt fosgate amp and 2 10" P1 subs. i have a optima yellow top battery. my ground wire for my amp is speaker wires. my deck is a pioneer. no capacitor. when i 1st start driving i can listen 2 my music as loud as a i want no problem. then after about 5 mins of driving my subs start 2 skip at high volume. so i turn the volume down 5-10 then the subs start 2 skip when i start slowing down (coming 2 a stop/turning). and if i am in park i can turn the volume up 2 the max. this happened before so i bought a yellow top battery but the problem came back. so i am very confused. what is causing my subs 2 skip? how come it skips more when braking??

the 1st time this started happening i changed grounds. my friend said i needed 2 reset my amp (which i didnt)

  1. Your amp is doing what is known as "Clipping".  This typically happens when an amp gets overheated to protect it from breaking, it is because your ground is to small and/or you have lower impedience subwoofers than the amp can handle. Either way you need to use a better/larger ground like the other answer states, otherwise you risk having a fire and wrecking your amp.

  2. i dont know whats going on with your system but i can tell you that you shouldnt be using speaker wire for your ground it should be power wire try 4 gauge
