I hate the fact that my voice hasn't changed yet, it doesn't sound deep or manly at all, still childish and kid-like, and I want a deep voice. Everything else on me has changed, with the growth spurt, hair, etc. but that's not thee point, the point is why hasn't my voice changed yet? I'm male, 17 (18 in 7 months) and well I'm the only guy my age without a deep voice. Is there a way I can change it? Any medications or procedures or exercises? I can deepen my voice and all, but the thing is I want my voice to change on its own and not depend on faking something to be "normal". How can I change my voice? Why hasn't it deepened yet? I have no clue, any ideas???

  1. My voice didnt change till my 17th year. Everyone goes through puberty differently. Sometimes your voice might be last to fully mature. On the contrary, an illness such as a severe case of sore throat can damage your vocal cords and cause the pitch of your voice to sound more child like. You may need to go see a physician.

  2. You havn't stopped growing until you're around 21, but your voice might just be like that. Try and accept it instead of trying to fit into an ideal :o

  3. There's nothing wrong with your voice. Every voice depicts who they are. Cherish your voice. My voice has NEVER changed and I'm perfectly fine with it. But then again I am female so it's not really that big of a deal to me. If you have the hair on the face and what not I'd say that's enough. Maybe it'll even out your child-like voice and be all, "Hey! I'm manly.. look at my 'cool' beard." I don't know. Just live with it! Maybe try a vocal class where they can help you get really low pitched or very high pitched. Take an acting class where they teach you to change your accent and pitch of your voice.
