How come my voice sounds different on a microphone?

ok when i make videos, my voice sounds so weird!!!!! and it doesnt sound ANYTHING like me

  1. That's the case for everybody.  When you speak, you hear your voice from "inside," so to speak.   The vibration of your vocal cords is transmitted through your jawbone to your inner ear.  

    On a recording, you hear yourself the way everyone else hears you.  In that case, your vocal cords cause air to vibrate exiting through your mouth.  The soundwaves travel to the listener's outer hear, passing through the middle ear, to the inner ear.
