  1. we are talking about matt "the brat" kenseth - owner of the last "winston cup" ever won (2003), correct?  the same matt kenseth who has sixteen cup wins and twenty four nationwide series wins?  the same matt kenseth  who once made the usually calm and collected jeff gordon so mad that he hopped out of his car at bristol once and knock matt back on his heels? the same matt kenseth who just six weeks ago was outside the top 20 and who has now moved into 8th place in the points?  the same matt kenseth who is tied with junior for second in top 10s with 12 (busch and edwards have 13)?

he'll get there - he's just had some bad luck and got a little slower start in the COT than edwards, busch, biffle, and now johnson. but he's coming on strong and after having seen how he always comes back at the end, i have no doubt he'll have a win or more before the year is out.

  2. Because they drive Fords.

  3. yeah Matt is a great driver and he will get there.  Just some bad luck right now.  I look for him in victory Lane real soon.!!

  4. Nice guys finish last. It is a sad but true saying. Matt is a great driver but lacks the gusto to be pushy and face it...it win you must be pushy. Look at all the laid back drivers. Mikey, Mark Martin, Ryan Newman...to name a few.. they are mostly in the middle to the back every week, it is not in their blood to knock the next guy back a few spots and go for the win. If they can get the win without ruffling any feathers then they will.

  5. matts a Rousch Robot

  6. a punctured tire was the culprit, I honestly think had it not been for that he was the one to beat...

  7. 18s #1 fan you forgot the same matt who about got his face caved in by carl edwards and then looked like he was about to cry i think hes learned to work better with his teammates now though :]

  8. i like matt kenseth. he a good driver. i like tha he is layed back. i think he will really pick it up in the last ten. and i think he is one of the best driving today. and he learned he cup driving from mark martin and mark is layed back. he was driving pretty aggressive after that tire went down. from 30 to 15 in ten laps. that pretty aggressive i think.

  9. He's not aggressive enough. He needs to be aggressive like Kyle Busch. Kenseth pretty much just tries to get a good finish to help his points out but isnt the type of driver who will take a lot of risks to win. Thats the diff. between him having 0 wins this year and Kyle Busch having 7 so far imo

  10. Didn't Kenseth win the Cup one year? I think that speaks for itself. I don't think winning races has anything to do with being a nice guy........Driving skills are what it takes.

  11. Nobody on the track cares about whos nice.

  12. That has always been Matt's MO and it won him a championship. He is also one of two drivers to make every single chase so far, the other is Jimmie Johnson, which is good company.

Matt is a great driver and while he may not be flashy and gutsy the credentials Ive mentioned speak for themselves. I have tons of respect for Matt.
